Fast Finishes and Family Spirit at RWJBarnabas Health Devils 5K – 2025

WEST ORANGE, NJ – On a beautiful Sunday morning, November 2, 2025, athletes of all ages gathered at Cherry Lane/South Mountain Reservation for the RWJBarnabas Health Running with the Devils 5K Run & Walk. The energy was electric as runners lined up to tackle the scenic course, and what unfolded was a showcase of athletic excellence, community spirit, and the infectious enthusiasm that makes local 5K races so special.

The top male finishers set a blistering pace from the opening gun. Johan Bertotty of North Brunswick, NJ, crossed the finish line first with an impressive time of 16:15, proving once again why he’s a force to be reckoned with in regional racing. Right on his heels was Jacob Newman from Hillsborough, NJ, who posted a solid 16:30 to claim second place. Rounding out the top three was Joseph David of Saylorsburg, PA, with a time of 16:32 that would have been winning in most races.

On the women’s side, Adelyn Davis of Easton, PA, led the charge with a fantastic 17:52, setting the pace for female runners across the course. Davis’s performance was a reminder of the incredible talent in the women’s field.

Beyond the top finishers, the real story of the day was the diversity and depth of talent on display. Age group winners emerged from every corner, with competitive categories including 15-19, 40-44, 50-54, and beyond. Youth runners showed incredible speed and determination, while masters runners proved that age is just a number when it comes to competitive racing. The mix of clubs, families, and individual runners created an atmosphere that celebrated the love of running and fitness.

The competitive finishes throughout the race—especially among the top 10 overall—showcased just how talented this event attracts. Multiple runners finished within seconds of each other, creating exciting finishes and demonstrating the quality of the field.
